Well, Steve Sansweet didn’t say that per se at Comic-Con last week, but he might as well have according to the reports I’ve read from various sources. What many feared would happen will: the “bonus features” will not be anamorphic and are taken from Laserdisc masters. Essentially a legal bootleg. Sansweet tried his darndest to sell LFL’s snake oil, but obviously a lot of folks at the Con weren’t buying it. And won’t be buying it in September, including yours truly.

There will be a Bash-A-Rama-Thon II! Not only will it be a September Smackdown, but it will also celebrate the Throne Room’s third anniversary. It will start on or around August 20 and probably run for a month.

Maybe. With Lucas about to apply the screwdriver to O-OT fans once again in September, the occasion should not pass without my applying some form of smackdown. I’ll give it some thought.

The Digital Bits is reporting a rumor of the O-OT’s future appearance in anamorphic format in France. This seems rather strange. I don’t know what size market Fox has in France, but if this is such a big money-grab (and it most definitely is), why only release it there? I guess LFL couldn’t get O-OT fans any angrier if they tried, if this is true.
