About Me
My handle is Darth Sheba, and I'm a pariah.
I'm one of those folk who don't see the Star Wars movies as a saga, 1-6. To me, there's the original Original Trilogy (beginning with Star Wars, not A New Hope) and the Prequel Trilogy. As a matter of fact, I think the PT should never have been made at all.
I remember seeing SW on cable in my uncle's living room in 1979. I remember seeing ROTJ in a theater in Queens, New York in 1983. Twice. I remember watching all three movies in a marathon in 1985.
I never saw the SEs in 1997, and I'm glad I didn't.
I saw The Phantom Menace in 1999, and I wondered what the heck I was watching.
I saw Attack of the Clones in 2002, and I wished I hadn't.
I saw Revenge of the Sith in 2005, and I was glad the whole mess was finally over with.
I never bought the 2006 DVDs with the "bonus features", and that's not going to change.
Did I like anything in the PT? Precious little, just enough to acquire quite a few 1/6 scale figures. But that's because I might like the figure more than the character, or because my imagination puts more into a character than George Lucas did.
I've been marked as "not a fan", but that's furthest from the truth. It's a cudgel for folks who can't cotton to someone who rejects unquestioning loyalty to SW and George Lucas.
I was never loyal to Lucas. But I am loyal to SW.
